2, 3 and 4 Door Options — Free Delivery Across Ireland
- A sideboard has one job — to hold everything you need while looking like it was never asked to. The Ethnicraft PI sideboard does considerably more than that.
Part of the Polished Imperfect collection designed by Alain van Havre, the PI honours nature’s design, keeping the strength, curves and lines of the wood as nature intended. Each piece is finished by hand, so the individual character of the wood is respected rather than standardised, and no two are exactly alike.
The detail is in the restraint: push-open doors with no visible handles, one adjustable shelf per compartment, and a considered 45cm depth that holds plenty without dominating the room. It comes in two woods — oiled European oak and dark brown stained, brushed teak — across three sizes, from a compact 119cm two-door to a generous 230cm four-door. For indoor use.

PI Sideboard - Frequently Asked Questions
How do the doors open — there are no handles?
They’re push-to-open (tip-on): a gentle press on the door releases it, so the front stays clean with no handles or knobs. It’s a deliberate part of the PI look.
Should I choose oak or teak?
It comes down to tone and finish. The oiled European oak is lighter and more natural, finished with a PFAS-free hardwax oil that keeps the grain open and warm. The teak is a dark brown, brushed finish sealed with a water-based varnish — richer and deeper in colour. Both are solid wood and share the same sizes, doors and dimensions; the choice is purely the look you want.
What’s it made from, and how do I look after it?
Solid wood throughout — either oiled European oak (Quercus robur) or dark brown stained teak (Tectona grandis) — with a veneered back panel. Care depends on the finish: follow the oiled oak or varnished wood care guide linked above, wipe spills promptly, and use mats under anything hot or damp.
Will mine look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical — each PI piece is hand-finished, so the grain and character vary from one to the next. With the Polished Imperfect collection, that’s the point: the wood is kept as nature made it rather than standardised.
Does it match other pieces?
Yes — it’s part of Alain van Havre’s wider Polished Imperfect (PI) collection for Ethnicraft. Browse the full range
Does it need fixing to the wall?
It comes with anti-tipping hardware and pre-drilled holes, which we’d always recommend fitting — especially in a home with children. No other assembly is needed; it arrives ready to use.
Can I see it in person in Ireland?
Yes! It’s in our Cork showroom, where you can see the oak version and the push-open doors up close.
How long will I be waiting?
The PI by Ethnicraft takes approximately 4–6 weeks. Delivery and lead times are estimates, so if anything looks like it will take longer than expected, we’ll be in touch.
What happens after I order?
Our customer service team places your order with Ethnicraft. When it arrives at our warehouse, we’ll email you — and if you paid a deposit, that email includes your remaining balance. Full payment is needed before delivery can be booked.

Can I pay a deposit?
Yes — pay in full, or start your order with a 50% deposit and pay the balance before delivery.
Can I cancel or return it?

For in-store orders, let us know within 14 days if you change your mind; items must be unused and undamaged with your original receipt, and we’ll issue a credit note for the value (we don’t give refunds on in-store change-of-mind returns).
Sometimes things are out of our control. Please check your order as soon as it’s delivered to make sure there’s no damage — check everything before signing, report any damage to the delivery team and note it on the form, then email photos to customercare@iystulvorxamqe.pro within 48 hours.
